From Submission to Revised Specification

Step 01

We receive your file

Your submission routes to the Carter engineer for your region. We review the file before following up — no ticketing queue, no holding pattern.

Step 02

We review and follow up

An application engineer reviews the spec and contacts you within [X business days] to discuss the project before rewriting. We need to understand the application before we can improve the spec.

Step 03

You receive a revised spec

We return a spec that reflects current CAT models, current emissions tier requirements, and your application — written to hold up at bid and position CAT equipment as basis of design.

About the Spec Review Process

We review it against current CAT models, current EPA emissions tier requirements, and the application details you share with us. Where the spec references outdated models, superseded requirements, or competitor equipment, we rewrite those sections to reflect what's current and what works for your project. We return the file to you — we don't publish or share it.
No. We rewrite the specification language to match your application — we don't change what the system needs to do. If we identify a mismatch between what the spec calls for and what's available or code-compliant, we'll flag it and discuss it with you before making any changes.
We'll follow up to understand the project before we can do useful work on your spec. That conversation is technical, not a pitch — but we won't pretend we aren't Carter. If CAT equipment is the right answer for your project, a well-written spec makes that clear.
Even better. Send the spec and tell us the model in the optional notes field. We'll confirm it's the right fit, update any outdated language, and make sure the enclosure, tank, and installation requirements are current.
